Download a jwplayer movie in batphu

When a movie is playing in batphu using jwplayer, you can still download it.

Just look in the source code and find something like this:

<script type='text/javascript'>
jwplayer('my-video').setup({
file: '/ethan/movies2/intothestorm.mp4',
width: '640',
height: '320'
});
</script>

Then you can construct the url like this:

http://www.batphu.com/ethan/movies2/intothestorm.mp4

Then right click as usual, and choose your download option from the menu. .

Mass Transit Directions

The easiest way to get to Jersey City is by mass transit, but we have driving directions below if you need them. We live very close to the Holland Tunnel, so traffic can cause major delays at times and street parking is also challenging. If you haven't taken mass transit before, there is a phone app called "Transit" that makes it a lot easier. Google Maps also does transit instructions.

From New York Penn Station
Walk one block east to Herald Square (33rd St and Broadway and 6th Ave) and take the PATH train toward Journal Square (JSQ). On the weekends or late nights, the train will say HOB/JSQ. Get off at the Newport stop and walk seven minutes to our house.

From Northern New Jersey
You can take NJ Transit commuter rail trains on the Bergen Line, the Main Line, the Pascack Valley line, and others to Hoboken Terminal. For lines headed to Penn Station in New York, you can switch trains at Secaucus Junction to arrive at Hoboken Terminal. From Hoboken Terminal, you can take the New Jersey Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to Harsimus Cove or just take the 20-minute walk to our house.

From Philadelphia or Southern New Jersey
From Philadelphia, you can take a SEPTA train to Trenton, where you take a NJ Transit commuter rail train on the Northeast Corridor Line toward New York City. From Trenton or other points, you can take that same Northeast Corridor line train from the closest station to your origin. You get off the Northeast Corridor Line train at Newark Penn Station (not Newark Airport) and then take the PATH train to Grove Street, which is a 10-minute walk from our house.

Driving Directions

From New York City
Take the Holland Tunnel and make a left turn onto Jersey Ave. soon after exiting from the tunnel. After crossing the eastbound direction of I-78 (the traffic going toward the Holland Tunnel), you make an immediate left up the ramp towards the Newport Centre Mall and then make a right at the traffic light onto Washington Blvd. Our building is on the corner of 2nd St. and Washington--turn right on 2nd to drop someone off at the front door. You might have arrangements for one of us to hop in the car with you to help you park at the Newport Mall.  See below for parking information.

From Northern New Jersey
Take Route 3 to Route 1/9 to the old traffic circle where you follow the signs for Route 139 to the Holland Tunnel. Just as the entrance to the Holland Tunnel comes into view, you reach a traffic light for Jersey Ave. where you need to be in the right lane to turn right, which feels weird, because you are turning across three lanes of parallel traffic that have a red light when you get your green. After the turn, you make an immediate left up the ramp towards the Newport Centre Mall and then make a right at the traffic light onto Washington Blvd. Our building is on the corner of 2nd St. and Washington--turn right on 2nd to drop someone off at the front door. You might have arrangements for one of us to hop in the car with you to help you park at the Newport Mall.  See below for parking information.

From Philadelphia or Southern New Jersey
Take the New Jersey Turnpike north until you reach the exit for the eastern spur (I-78)--it will list several exits, including Bayonne and Jersey City--and the Holland Tunnel, which is what you want. Just as the entrance to the Holland Tunnel comes into view, you reach a traffic light for Jersey Ave. where you need to be in the right lane to turn right.

Parking Directions

You can follow the directions above if you are inclined to park on the street for free. If you are just visiting for a few hours, there is street parking on Washington Blvd. and on some side streets, but it might take you a while to find a spot.

If you are willing to pay for parking, there seem to be a number of choices, as listed in Parkopedia, which seems really useful. The Newport Centre Mall appears to be the best place to park, according to Parkopedia. This is what Parkopedia says about parking at Newport Mall--it seems to be open 24 hours and you can park there for multiple days by paying the 24 hour rate:

Mon-Fri 24 hours
1 Hour     $ 2.00
2 Hours   $ 2.25
3 Hours   $ 3.50
4 Hours   $ 5.50
6 Hours   $10.00
24 Hours $22.00

Sat-Sun 24 hours
1 Hour      $ 2.00
2 Hours    $ 2.25
3 Hours    $ 3.50
4 Hours    $ 5.50
24 Hours  $10.00

You'll want to park in the Newport South Garage. No matter what directions you followed above, you will want to make a right turn into the Newport South Garage a few blocks before you reach our house.  As you proceed south on Washington Blvd., you will see a sign for South Garage and you make a right turn into the garage.

After you park, your walk is about ten minutes. Walk out the same entrance to the garage you drove in, making your way back out to Washington Blvd. At that point, make a right turn to continue south down Washington Blvd. until you get to 2nd St. Make a right on 2nd and walk in the front door of M2 at Marbella. Check in at the front desk with the concierge, then find the elevator.

How I solved my BSOD (blue screen) on HP Envy

I have the HP Envy with 2TB hard drive.  I was getting BSOD's (blue screen of death) with kernel_security_check_failure.

From some googling, I started to suspect Paint Shop Pro X7. Could my NVIDIA device driver need updating?

I learned that some versions of Nvidia are unstable with Windows 10.

When I tried updating from Windows Device Manager, Windows told me I already had the latest version. But I didn't. I went to NVidia and upgraded to 368.81, which was very new at the time of the writing of this post. I don't know why Windows was so clueless but that's Windows.
